Breathing
Pay attention to your breath during the entire Yoga class, breathing deeply and regularly to flow like a river.
What to wear
Normal sports outfits or other comfortable clothes, which are not restricting to movement are suitable. Yoga is genertally done with bare feet. If you often have cold feet, bring warm socks with you, which can be out on during the relaxation sequences.
Eating and drinking
You should not eat anything for two hours before the Yoga class. Before and after class one should drink sufficient water in order to support the internal purification process, which Yoga activates.
Health
Yoga is generally suitable for everyone, independent of age and condition. It promotes felxibility, strength and balance, helps to reduce stress, promotes concentration and inner peace. During the menstruation cycle each woman should decide for herself whether she would like to practice Yoga. Inversions (headstands, etc.) positions are not recommendable on days with strong blood flow. However certain Asanas can moderate menstrual cramps. Ask your Yoga teacher. With acute diseases such as flu, colds, inflammation or an illnesses of the joints etc. Yoga should not be practiced. If you suffer from health complaints, first consult with your physician and inform your Yoga teacher, so that a Yoga program suitable for you can be arranged.
Children
Starting from approx. 3 years Yoga can be taught for children in playful way. They will gain a better feeling of their body, develop body perception, and learn to relax. Often their concentration and self-confidence will also improve as well.
Materials
A Yoga mat (Sticky Mat) is ideal. Aids such as a block and belts can be used for assistance.
Religion
People of many different cultural backgrounds and religions practice Yoga. At Yogalives we are open to students of any age, background or religion. In our studio everyone experiences the same respect.
Regular practice
It is best when one practices between 30 and 90 minutes every day.
Pregnancy
In principle pregnant women can also practice Yoga, dependent on their health and fitness etc. Certain exercises are unsuitable for pregnant woman. Best is if you discuss with your doctor.
