Therapeutics| Restoratives| Working w/injuries

In this module we will explore the healing benefits of therapeutic yoga  which includes working with props, specific alignment cues and special attention to detail. Practicing in this manner can enhance the healing aspect of our nervous system known as the parasympathetic. When this is activated there is a deep healing state that is cultivated in the mind and body. We will explore unique sequences that help to heal specific areas of our bodies and you will learn how to teach to all levels and all different types of bodies. You will leave with a greater understanding of the three nervous systems which include: the sympathetic, parasympathetic, and the enteric nervous system.  We will explore pranayama practices which help to enhance our subtle body and shift our nervous system into a healing state.

As a yoga teacher, it is important to understand how to read different patterns in the body to help prevent and heal injury. We will also look at the psychological aspects of the practice and dive deeper into looking at our own patterns known as samskaras and how to integrate  your shadow. We will end this module with a practice that encourages us to advance in our asana and move through fear by integrating the philosophy of yoga and transformation into our practices and daily lives.
